World Wide Web of Friendship

Nicholas Ferrar wrote to advise his cousin Arthur Woodnoth on a matter of business on 10th May 1630, warning him not to interrupt “…that web of friendship which I hope might otherwise prove a pattern in an age that needs patterns”

Ferrar House, Little Gidding
At the beginning of May 2005 the Rev’d Tony and Judith Hodgson were welcomed to Ferrar House as the new Wardens. Tony and Judith first came to Little Gidding in the early 1970s, when they bought the farm property and began to form a community. After four years they moved to Great Gidding where Tony became Vicar of the Giddings and subsequently of the neighbouring parishes of Hamerton, Upton and Winwick. In the early eighties they moved away and Tony continued to be involved in rural ministry until his 'retirement' in 2000.

Tony and Judith are delighted to return to Little Gidding and are enjoying seeing old friends and meeting those who visit the church and Ferrar House. They will be involved in the life of the Giddings and hope to build on the work at Ferrar House of welcoming visitors and fostering the prayer life of Little Gidding.

Ferrar House is a delightful place to visit - with facilities including refreshments, garden terrace, conference areas and small gift shop for visitors. Ferrar House also offers bed and breakfast accommodation for people wanting a longer stay in this peaceful location.
